What Is A Chemical Peel And Does It Hurt?

August 17, 2020

A chemical peel is a great way to improve the overall appearance of your skin. It can provide a glowing look and be used to treat wrinkles, sun damage, acne scarring, rosacea, and many other skin issues.

The term "chemical peel" might make it sound like the procedure could hurt, but generally, it doesn't! There are different types of chemical peels, from a light peel to a deep peel. Light and medium peels don't hurt at all, and patients are quite comfortable. Deeper peels can be just a bit uncomfortable, but can work very well for patients with severe skin issues.

After a peel, a patient's skin will be a bit more sensitive to the sun, but this will get better quickly.
